Jodi Livon voted Audience Favorite & 2016 Charity Ambassador! Dancing with the Twin Cities Celebrities!

I don’t spend a lot of time pretending I’m someone else cause I like who I am. But that has come at a cost. In order to maintain emotional and spiritual stability I have to clean my emotional corners and those sharp edges can really hurt when I bump into them.

As a teenager my drug of choice was music and I was willingly addicted. I’d set my alarm for 5:30am so I could listen to the radio for a full hour before getting dressed for school. I needed the sound to move through me and make me whole.

Years later I would find myself in the middle of a dance floor crammed with people all bouncing to the beat of a favored local band. Again, the music would act as a healing device for my soul. I could really move because I didn’t care what I looked like: it was all about how I felt.

Fast forward to my middle age. I’m a published author and have come out of the psychic closet and am on television showcasing the beauty of the intuitive process. I’m asked to do something charitable, something dance related, something that terrifies me.

I can talk to dead people and not flinch. I can talk to my teenagers and barely flinch. Formal dance I cannot do.

When in December, 2015 I was asked to participate in a fund raiser called Dancing with the Twin Cities Celebrities I said no. No thanks.

And then…

On a hunch, I said yes to the dance.

Because of a nudge from a friend on the other side, I agreed to be front and center, under the lights.

I said yes to opening myself up to an insurmountable level of criticism.
And yes to raising money that would aid in finding a cure for the cancer that took my friend out at 37-years-of-age.

I learned some sweet samba moves. I learned some things about me I didn’t much like. My body image, and my self-esteem disagreed with my choice to dance. Really, one could say they revolted. During every single dance lesson that critical part of me sat in the corner, clucking her tongue and shaking her head.

I danced anyway.

And when it came time to dance under the lights some things were intuitively revealed to me that shook me from my perfectly manicured toes to the top of my seven-thousand-dollar sparkly dress. Fear grabbed hold of my throat and darn near tripped my feet.

I danced anyway.

I danced for my dad in celebration of his beating blood cancer. I danced for Colleen who could dance no more and I danced for every single person who has dropped a tear over losing a life or a moment of it because of cancer. I danced for everyone who has battled that critical part of themselves and danced anyway.

Insights and Outasights

IMG_0754

I saw you last night. Your soul colors were simply sparkling. It reminded me of your wedding day. You didn’t see me though I know you felt my presence as I floated in your joy. I’m with you when you feel a loss or are filled with peace and I shall be there when you take your last breath.
You are missing me but I’m not gone.

Insights and Outasights is the name of one of my old workshops. It’s about the process of connecting with those on the other side. It is through our insights that we are able to understand things that appear to be out of sight.

I-will-know-you-when-I feel you and

Love travels well.
Of all the gifts you will receive in this life, love is the only one with everlasting power.

Love is your companion in this world and into the next. It is ethereal.

Love is also an instrument of communication. It is an outward expression
of an inward connection to soul and that connection doesn’t ever disappear.

Those who have loved us and love us still sit by our sides in memory and in spirit even when they are in spirit.

The point of this blog isn’t to teach anyone how to communicate with deceased loved ones. It is to illustrate that you already are, through your love.

Over the years I have met some exceptional souls from the other side. Their stories have varied but the reason they journey over to this side for a few moments has always been for reasons of love. To help someone heal and move forward, heal and move on.

You-are-missing-me-but

Your loved one sends hugs from heaven. Send some back. Live and live big.

Trust your GUT not your GUILT!

snowingWindow of snow

What is the difference between Gut and Guilt?

Remorse and guilt are part of the same family, they are word-related. Both are emotional reactions to our actions. Gut and guilt are not part of the same family. They don’t even like each other.

A gut reaction is an intuitive and or instinctual reaction. It’s that knowing feeling, that aha moment, and that conscious awareness of truth.

One positive aspect of remorse and guilt is that it provides us with an opportunity to take a deeper look and perhaps alter our choices and create a healthier outcome the next time around. A negative aspect is that guilt is frequently used as a tool for manipulation. When guilt is involved, nothing feels good, sweet or calm.

When gut is involved, a peaceful feeling permeates our senses. When gut is involved, that harmonious feeling remains with us in relation to that particular choice. It’s a positive sensation that is with us now and will remain later.

So a gut reaction is peaceful and a guilt reaction is prickly.

Here’s how to apply your intuition when making a decision. I call it the Now & Later decision maker. Stand up, gently shake your hands out toward the ground. Sit down with both feet flat on the floor. Take a seven slow deep breaths through your nose. Now quietly observe your choices and consider which decision will feel good to you now and later when you reflect upon it. The Now & Later will serve you well!

When love is involved, or rather loving self…a decision that rests on guilt doesn’t stand a chance.

Landing in that space of honestly feeling love of self is a process. It continues to unfold throughout life as we take a deeper look within.
